2026-08-29
- Sample Editor: silence detection (trim silence, and the Booth's trim start/end) now measures about each channel's mean, so a mic's DC offset can't make silence look like signal and defeat the trim.
- Recording Booth: new tool — a voice-memo pad for musical ideas. Record from the mic with a live input meter and clip lamp, see the take as a waveform and an averaged spectrum with its length, peak, clipped-sample count and LUFS, then edit it: trim start and trim end as two separate commands against an adjustable silence threshold, fade in and fade out in three shapes so the cuts don't click, normalize, remove DC — every move undoable. Exports WAV or AIFF at 16/24-bit (or 32-bit float in WAV), mono or stereo, resampled to 48, 44.1 or 22.05 kHz.
- Audio to Image: new tool — drop in a track and take away a picture of its waveform. Five shapes (bars, mirror, line, filled, and a radial ring for cover art), size presets for YouTube thumbnails, Spotify covers, podcast art, Instagram and link cards, and SVG / PNG / JPEG export. It draws the amplitude the way a meter would — peak or RMS, linear or dBFS — and measures the encoded file against each platform's upload limit before you leave the page.
- Site: every page now has a crawlable head — meta description, canonical URL, social-share cards, and structured data — so tools can be found by search and shared as more than a bare link.
- Site: a site-wide search on the home page and every hub, with a musician's twist: type 440, 96 bpm, 19edo, Cmaj7, or "d dorian" and jump straight to the right tool, pre-set.
- Site: every tool page ends with a footer — back to its section, related tools, and (on theory lessons) previous/next in the track.
- Site: tools now hand each other state: the tuner at A4=442, the metronome at 180 BPM, or a key like F# dorian carries along related-tool links and lives in the URL for sharing.
- Site: a "surprise me" button on the home page opens a random tool.
- Site: "new" badges now mean something — they appear only on tools added in the last 30 days, and expire on their own.

- Photo to Score: staffline extraction, notehead detection, pitch mapping, and rhythm — a full "Transcribe a staff" pass, wired end to end and validated against real photos.
