What's new
Every tool and site change since the first commit, newest first. Tool
names link straight to the tool. Where it's all heading lives on the
roadmap.

- Sample Transformer: the one-band destructive EQ is now a seven-band parametric EQ — high-pass, low shelf, three bells, high shelf and low-pass, each switchable and retypeable, pass bands at 12 or 24 dB/oct. Drag numbered nodes on a response graph drawn over the sound's own spectrum (or use the arrows, [ ] for Q, and the band sliders), audition it live from the cursor with an EQ in/out switch — the preview runs the exact filters the render will — then apply it as one undoable move. Six presets and an output trim.
- BPM & Key Finder: new tool — drop a track and get its tempo and key. Tempo comes from autocorrelating a spectral-flux onset envelope (reinforced at 2× and 4× the beat, refined across 16 beat multiples to a tenth of a BPM), with half/double-time alternatives one click away; key comes from Krumhansl–Schmuckler profile matching on a chromagram, with Krumhansl–Kessler or Temperley profiles, the top five runner-ups and how close they came, the Camelot code, and the keys it mixes into. A beat grid on the waveform, a click track and a tonic drone let you check both readings by ear, and the results carry to the metronome, delay calculator and scale pages.
- Compressor & Limiter: new tool — a see-through compressor built from the textbook design: peak or RMS detector, threshold/ratio/soft-knee gain computer drawn as a live transfer curve, attack/release smoothing, makeup, and a dry/wet mix for parallel compression, plus a lookahead brickwall limiter whose output never crosses the ceiling. See the gain-reduction trace over the input and output waveforms, A/B against the original at matched loudness, compare peak, true peak, RMS, crest factor, LUFS, loudness range and PLR before and after, start from five presets, and export a 24-bit WAV.
- Compression Guesser: new tool — the EQ Guesser's sibling for dynamics. A hidden compressor is on the target; A/B it against yours and set threshold and ratio (then attack, release and knee as the tiers climb) until they match. Both sides are loudness-matched so volume can't give it away, and the grade compares your gain-reduction trace with the hidden one — the same model you hear — with the trace and transfer curve revealed on submit and a note on which knob missed and which way.
- File Inspector: now also reports loudness range (EBU Tech 3342) and a quick tempo, key and Camelot read.
- DJ Blend: Detect now reads each deck's key as well as its tempo (with the new whole-track tempo estimator), and a harmonic-mixing line says whether the two keys blend.

- Dirtywave M8: new page — the pocket hardware tracker from Trash80 (Timothy Lamb). Model:01, Model:02 and the Teensy 4.1 "Headless" firmware, its Wavsynth / Macrosynth / FM / Hypersynth / sampler engines, and links to Dirtywave's downloads, docs, and the m8c computer client.
- Polyend Tracker: new page — the standalone sampler-sequencer with a pad grid and a big knob. The original Tracker (2020), the Tracker Mini (2023) and the 16-track Tracker+ (2024), with its wavetable and granular playback modes and the ACD / FAT / VAP / WTFM synth engines.
- Tracker Software: new page — trackers that run on today's computers: Renoise, OpenMPT, MilkyTracker, Schism Tracker, Furnace, SunVox and the in-browser BassoonTracker, grouped as classic-format, chip, and tracker-DAW. Together the three make a new "Modern Trackers" section on the DAWs hub.

- Reharm Trainer: new tool — a reharmonization ear game. Hear a short melody over its plain diatonic changes, then over a reharmonized version that keeps every melody note as a chord tone, and name the move: tritone sub, secondary dominant, backdoor ii–V, modal interchange, or a diatonic substitution. Four tiers — from three moves with both progressions shown, up to a by-ear round where B's chords stay hidden and you also click the bar that changed — with a why line on every answer, a streak counter, and a best-streak-per-tier saved on device. Because the game generates the reharmonization there's a real answer to grade against, which open reharmonization never has. Pairs with the Reharmonization lesson.

- EQ Guesser: new tool — a mix-matching ear trainer. A hidden EQ shapes the target; A/B it against your own curve and drag (or arrow-key) the band dots until the two sound the same, then submit and see the hidden curve revealed over yours. Scored 0–100 against a do-nothing baseline, with four difficulty tiers (one obvious boost up to three subtle moves on the full octave grid), a choice of looping clip styles synthesized in code — drum groove, bass + pad, full stack, pink noise — and every dot a real keyboard slider: tab between bands, arrows move 1 dB, shift-arrows 3 dB.

- Frequency Guesser: new tool — an ear-training drill for the frequency spectrum. A pure sine tone lands on one of the 31 graphic-EQ bands and you name it, with four tiers from four well-spaced bands up to all 31, a reference strip for learning what each band sounds like, and a per-round level jitter so you're judging frequency, not loudness.

- Sample Editor: silence detection (trim silence, and the Booth's trim start/end) now measures about each channel's mean, so a mic's DC offset can't make silence look like signal and defeat the trim.
- Recording Booth: new tool — a voice-memo pad for musical ideas. Record from the mic with a live input meter and clip lamp, see the take as a waveform and an averaged spectrum with its length, peak, clipped-sample count and LUFS, then edit it: trim start and trim end as two separate commands against an adjustable silence threshold, fade in and fade out in three shapes so the cuts don't click, normalize, remove DC — every move undoable. Exports WAV or AIFF at 16/24-bit (or 32-bit float in WAV), mono or stereo, resampled to 48, 44.1 or 22.05 kHz.
- Audio to Image: new tool — drop in a track and take away a picture of its waveform. Five shapes (bars, mirror, line, filled, and a radial ring for cover art), size presets for YouTube thumbnails, Spotify covers, podcast art, Instagram and link cards, and SVG / PNG / JPEG export. It draws the amplitude the way a meter would — peak or RMS, linear or dBFS — and measures the encoded file against each platform's upload limit before you leave the page.
- Site: every page now has a crawlable head — meta description, canonical URL, social-share cards, and structured data — so tools can be found by search and shared as more than a bare link.
- Site: a site-wide search on the home page and every hub, with a musician's twist: type 440, 96 bpm, 19edo, Cmaj7, or "d dorian" and jump straight to the right tool, pre-set.
- Site: every tool page ends with a footer — back to its section, related tools, and (on theory lessons) previous/next in the track.
- Site: tools now hand each other state: the tuner at A4=442, the metronome at 180 BPM, or a key like F# dorian carries along related-tool links and lives in the URL for sharing.
- Site: a "surprise me" button on the home page opens a random tool.
- Site: "new" badges now mean something — they appear only on tools added in the last 30 days, and expire on their own.
