Arranging & orchestration

Handing a chord to real instruments means respecting two things. Each has a range — write below it and the note doesn't exist. And many transpose: a B♭ trumpet's part is written a step above what it sounds, so the page and the pitch disagree. Pick a chord and a section, and the arranger spreads the chord low-to-high across your players, showing the concert pitch (what you hear) beside the written part (what each reads), and flagging anything out of range. Cross-links with Score Reading.
