A voice-memo pad for musical ideas: record from the mic, clean up the take, save it. Nothing is uploaded — closing the tab throws the take away.
Trim start and trim end each cut one end
back to the last sound above the silence threshold
(0 dBFS is full scale; quieter is more negative). The default
−48 dB sits above most room noise and below anything you
meant to play — raise it toward −30 in a noisy room,
lower it if a quiet breath gets eaten.
Fades exist because a cut mid-cycle is a step, and a step
is a broadband click. Ten or fifteen milliseconds is enough to walk the
edge to zero too slowly to hear: equal-power holds loudness
steady, linear is the plain ramp, exponential
hangs on and drops late.
